LONDON, UK Tuesday Apr.25.2006 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- The Subways have come to a halt -- at least for a little while.

The UK rock trio has been forced to cancel its North American spring tour after doctors diagnosed singer Bill Lunn with nodules on his vocal chords.

Bassist/vocalist Charlotte Cooper posted a message on the Subways' MySpace page on April 22nd to let fans know that Billy was under doctor's orders to rest his voice and that the band's currently scheduled dates would be postponed.

Charlotte explained that Billy "has been advised to take at least 6 weeks [of] complete rest from touring, which will include the American tour."

She adds, "We're all really disappointed by this, as we had been looking forward to the coming dates."

While Billy is resting his voice, Charlotte says the band is going to "use the time as positively as we can, working on new songs instrumentally."

Charlotte closed her post by thanking The Subways' fans for all their support and patience.

The Subways plan to return to the US in the summer to tour behind their debut album, "Young For Eternity." New shows will be confirmed shortly at the band's official web site at www.thesubways.net.
