Texas rockers Blue October have been forced to postpone the remaining dates of their spring tour after singer Justin Furstenfeld broke his leg.
According to an official press release, Justin was injured after Blue October headlined the 97X Birthday Bash show last week at Brighthouse Field in Clearwarter, Florida. Justin and the other members of Blue October were running the bases on the minor league baseball field for the Philadelphia Phillies, when Justin hurt his leg in an accident. He was rushed to the hospital and released early the next morning.
Additional testing revealed that Justin had completely torn the LCL (ligament) in his right leg and would require surgery. He's expected to have the surgery early this week.
After a recovery period, Justin is expected to be able to return to the stage on June 17th at Buzz-Fest in Houston. The May tour dates will be pushed back to late June and July.
Blue October has been touring in support of its third full-length studio album, "Foiled."
In related news, Blue October's opening act -- People In Planes -- plan to continue touring in support of their debut album "As Far As The Eye Can See....." The Welsh rockers have already booked some club shows for May, along with several radio festivals. For further information on where to catch People In Planes live, visit www.peopleinplanes.com
