NEW YORK, NY Tuesday Oct.17.2006 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Red Hot Chilli Pepper's Flea joined Patti Smith onstage Sunday night as celebs and punks alike mourned the closing of legendary music venue, CBGB's in New York City.

Despite a fierce fight to save the iconic club, it is being forced to shut its doors for good this week after losing its lease in a drawn-out battle with its landlord.

A new incarnation of CBGB is set to open in Las Vegas this coming Spring.
