LOS ANGELES, CA Thursday Dec.7.2006 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- The Microsoft corporation has high hopes in the face of low sales for its Zune media player, which was released just weeks ago.

The company expects to sell one million devices by June 2007, but that may be an overshoot given its less than stellar performance so far.

On Amazon.com yesterday, the black Zune player was ranked 55th in electronics sales, coming in after the iPod and other personal media players from SanDisk Corp. and Creative Technology Ltd.

However, Microsoft expects that all to turn around as they come out with more Zune models and expand into international markets.
