LOS ANGELES, CA Thursday Feb.15.2007 /netmusiccountdown.com/ --
Officials at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) ticked off a whole lot of students today when they canceled an upcoming concert featuring rappers Busta Rhymes and Jim Jones.
The decision to nix the gig came after the school got a hold of a police intelligence report. According to the cops, Busta Rhymes has refused to cooperate in the murder investigation of 29-year-old bodyguard Israel Ramirez, who was killed during a video shoot in Brooklyn.
Student Government President Mauresha Spencer told local news, "We pay an activity fee every year, and every year it becomes more and more that the administrators try and take from us. Now we're tired of it, not gonna stand anymore. It's our money and it's our choice, we believe."
Over 700 people already purchsed tickets for the event. A meeting is scheduled for today to discuss the police report, talk about rescheduling the show, and reviewing how refunds will be distributed for the canceled concert.
