HEILIGENDAMM, GERMANY Monday Jun.11.2007 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello was performing at a rally outside the G8 summit in Germany when things got ugly.

But according to FMQB.com, the former Audioslave member, performing as his alter ego The Nightwatchman, had to escape the area by boat after the protest became violent.

Morello said, "After my set, I had to escape via small boat to the Baltic Sea. There were police boats blockading the entrance to the festival and we snuck out under cover of darkness."
