LOS ANGELES, CA Friday Jul.6.2007 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Welcome to the FML summer season!

We're only one week into the competition, and already the game is off to a sizzling start.

Linkin Park hits #1 in Alternative once again with their single "What I've Done," goth-rocker Marilyn Manson jumped up 5 places, landing at #2 with "Heart-Shaped Glasses (When the Heart Guides the Hand)," and Fall Out Boy is still holding strong at #3 with "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs."

Red Hot Chili Peppers took a small dip from #2 to #4 this week with the single "Hump De Bump," but The Braveryrises up 5 spots to squeeze into the top 5 with "Time Won't Let Me Go." And Brand New makes its Alternative debut at #19 with "Jesus."

Maroon 5 hits #1 on the CHR chart again with "Makes Me Wonder," Rihanna's summer hit "Umbrella" keeps inching its way to the top, landing at #2 this week, and country-queen Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats" is still making a big splash at #3.

In 4th place is Avril Lavigne's single "Girlfriend," followed by Daughtry's "Home" in 5th place.

T-Pain and Nickelback made some major moves this week - both acts shot up 10 spots to hit #6 and #9, respectively. Timbaland's "Give It To Me" also has a good showing - the producer made an 8-spot jump to hit #10.

Finally, let's give a warm welcome to NMC debut artist Kat Deluna, who comes in at #20 with "Whine Up."

Go, Bucky Covington, go! The former "American Idol" contestant has found his place at the #1 Country spot yet again with "A Different World." Billy Currington still "Doin' Somethin' Right" with his single "Good Directions," which came in at #2 this week.

3rd place goes to Eric Churchwith "Guys Like Me," Emerson Drive is in 4th with "Moments," and Toby Keith rounds out this week's Country top 5 with his hit "High Maintenance Woman."

Maroon 5 is back again, this time on Hot AC with "Makes Me Wonder" at #1 Linkin Park is also making their second appearance with "What I've Done" at #2.

British singer Amy Winehouse may have ticked off fans after canceling one of her shows, but that hasn't hurt her place on the charts - Rehab is at #3 this week.

Carrie Underwood is back again with "Before He Cheats," the mega-star's hit single comes in at #4, and Fergie's single "Glamorous" stays strong at #5.

Rihanna takes over the top spot on the Urban charts with "Umbrella," ousting R. Kelly to the #2 spot. Justin Timberlake may be on the charts "Until The End Of Time" - the star's single is at #3 this week. In 4th place is double-duty artist T-Pain with "Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin')," and songwriter extraordinare Ne-Yo hits 5th place with "Do You."

There's still time to tweak that roster! It's early on in the season and it could make all the difference in the long run! Plus, you have 2 free chances throughout the 13 week competition to switch artists.

One very important rule to note is that once you've purchased an Artist, if you Switch that Artist for another, you cannot Switch for that Artist again during the season. Also, you can't effect a switch to a new genre - if U2 isn't working for you in Alternative, but it is in Hot AC, you can't switch genres and pick something new for your second Alternative artist.

Here's how to make your Artist Switches: decide which artist you are going to drop. Go to your My Labels page, choose the label you want to make changes with, then click on that label's name. Choose the artist you want to drop, and click on the Switch link to the right of the artist's name. You'll be presented with a screen that is similar to the screen you saw when you first signed your 10 artists. Choose the artist you want to switch to from the drop down menu, and click on the Switch Artist button. Then, confirm your choice by clicking the confirmation button.

The deadline for an Artist Switch to be reflected in your label performance for any week is Monday at noon Pacific time of that particular week.

Until week 2...happy playing!
