NASHVILLE, TN Friday Jul.20.2007 /netmusiccountdown.com/ --
After she hit #1 with her debut, "She's In Love With the Boy," in 1991, Trisha Yearwood tells us that she didn't know whether to thank Garth Brooks, or kill him, for inviting her to open for him that year.
That's because she was still green as a live performer and was just "thrown into the breech" with very little stage experience and with a band she'd never met. It was pretty rough she says.
"That first tour, that was the first time I'd ever sung in front of anybody was on the Garth Brooks tour, so I was pretty terrified. Anyone who says, 'I saw you open for Garth in '91', I want to thank them for coming back because I go you know I've been practicing since then."
