LOS ANGELES, CA Tuesday Aug.14.2007 /netmusiccountdown.com/ --
Billboard.com reports that rock band Queens Of The Stone Age will not be taking part in the Samsung/AT&T Summer Krush concert series, as earlier reported.
The band was scheduled to open the series August 13th in Los Angeles, but pulled out for reasons which remain undisclosed.
The band's Web site said: "contrary to the multiple reports on the Internet, Queens Of The Stone Age will NOT be appearing at Samsung Summer Krush event in Los Angeles ... We apologize to anyone who may have signed up on the Summer Krush website for entrance into the event."
Plain White T's, who are also scheduled for a September 12th date in the series, replaced QOTSA for the Los Angeles performance. The rest of the lineup, which includes Ludacris (Atlanta), the Bravery (Chicago), Kinky (Miami), Big & Rich (Dallas) and the All-American Rejects (New York) remains intact.
Each Summer Krush venue will feature kiosks where fans can test out Samsung's line of music-based mobile phones, including BlackJack, Samsung Sync, Samsung a717 and Samsung a727. Fans will also be able to trick out their favorite device at Samsung mobile phone "customization bars."
AT&T is using the concert series as a platform to promote AT&T and eMusic's new download service "eMusic Mobile." AT&T subscribers can access eMusic's catalog, which features 2.7-million songs.
