NASHVILLE, TN Wednesday Oct.10.2007 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Banjo pioneer Earl Scruggs was an unexpected highlight at the International Bluegrass Music Association's Fan Fest that concluded Sunday in Nashville. Carl Jackson introduced the Country Music Hall of Fame member prior to Emmylou Harris' Friday night set at the Nashville Convention Center. Scruggs was in excellent form during a brief set that included his signature instrumental, "Foggy Mountain Breakdown." Harris was accompanied by members of Carolina Star as she performed a selection of songs that included acoustic versions of several of her country hits including "One of These Days." Scruggs and Harris then appeared Sunday at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.
