ORLANDO, FL Thursday Nov.20.2003 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- It's been 75 years, and Mickey Mouse is looking as colorful as ever. November 18, 2003, marked the 75th anniversary of Mickey Mouse, who (in black and white) debuted in the first synchronized sound cartoon, "Steamboat Willie," on November 18, 1928.

Eighteen months of celebration have begun at Walt Disney World Resort, to honor the 75th Anniversary, and it started with the unveiling of 75 uniquely designed, 700-pound, 6-foot-tall Mickey statues. The unveiling, "Celebrate Mickey: 75 InspEARations," was a tribute to Mickey from an impressive array of actors, artists and athletes. Participating artists included Dave Koz, Wayne Allwine, Jerry Bruckheimer, Ellen Degeneres, Andreas Deja, Jamie Lee Curtis, Annette Funicello, James Gandolfini, Tom Hanks, Tony Hawk, Elton John, John Travolta and Wyland.
