NEW YORK, NY Friday Nov.28.2003 / -- For nearly ten years, the Roc-a-fella has been home to some of the most influential hip-hop artists, such as Jay-Z and Memphis Bleek. Even as Roc-a-fella introduces new acts like Young Gunz and Freeway, the powers that be know that history is important, too. That's why, on December 16, the "Roc Files Volume I" will be released.

This album will be a compilation of old as well as relatively new - from Jay-Z's "It's Alright" and the Beanie Sigel/Freeway collabo "Roc The Mic," to the Roc's most recent smash, The Young Gunz's "Can't Stop, Won't Stop." Says Damon Dash, Roc-A-Fella co-founder and CEO: "I felt it was time to remind people just how prolific and influential this label has been over the last 10 years. We have an incredible catalogue, and I wanted to not only capitalize on its wealth, but to chronicle our history."
