NASHVILLE, TN Thursday Jul.1.2004 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Carolyn Dawn Johnson joins actor George Clooney, PGA hero Tom Watson, catalog entrepreneur Lillian Vernon, and noted journalist and NPR correspondent Nina Totenberg among those sharing stories of special friendships in the July issue of
Reader's Digest.

In a feature entitled "Friends for Life," Carolyn pays homage to the man she calls "a great big teddy bear," Big Al Anderson, himself a titan of the music world, both as a hit songwriter, revered guitarist and longtime member of NRBQ. During her early days in Nashville, Johnson recalls, Anderson befriended her - and believed in her - at a time when she needed it the most.

"The money he paid me for the demos - more than anyone else paid - helped me buy groceries when I was literally living on pennies. But most important, his belief in me gave me the confidence and determination to stick with my goal of making it in the industry."
