LOS ANGELES, CA Tuesday Oct.12.2004 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- They said it wouldn't last, and they were right. Britney just broke up -- with her manager.

Last week the pop singer split from her longtime manager Larry Rudolph after a nine-year relationship. The breakup is reported to be amicable. Rudolph is credited with discovering Britney when she was just 13-years-old and building her pop star career.

Rudolph said in a statement, "Britney and I simply realized we have done all we can do together."

In other Britney news, the pop star's marriage to Kevin Federline is now legal. According to a spokesperson for Spears, the couple filed the necessary legal documents last week in California.
