NEW YORK, NY Tuesday Nov.2.2004 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- When writing music, Interpol's Daniel Kessler says the band is more interested in possibilities than in creating a certain sound.

In an interview with Bostonherald.com, Kessler talked about making Interpol's second album, "Antics."

Said the Interpol founder and lead guitarist, "We weren't conscious of keeping a certain sound, we are more interested in possibilities. When we came back to writing, really, the goal was to put faith in our natural progression and not put too much effort into it really."

Kessler adds, "We had a short amount of time to write and these were the songs that existed at the end of it. That probably explains why there isn't one theme through the album. Each song is its own entity, its own personality. It's like its own little voyage in a way."

Kessler also said, "There is no sound as far as Interpol goes. This record is very different from 'Bright Lights,' each song has more individuality. A lot of it comes with time, just knowing what you want to say and not stopping until you say it."
