NEW YORK, NY Wednesday Dec.22.2004 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- If you speak Spanish, you may have noticed the strange counting that opens U2's single, "Vertigo," off the band's latest album "How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb."

At the song's start, Bono sings, "Uno. Dos. Tres. Catorce." Translated, that means "One. Two. Three. Fourteen," which doesn't quite add up.

In an interview with RollingStone.com, Bono explains the leap of numbers. The U2 singer reveals, "There might have been some alcohol involved [smiles]."

He adds, "Improvisation is where this group really hits its form. That's when Larry and Adam feel they're contributing the most to songwriting. Through improvisations, we got 'Miracle Drug.' That's Adam's chord sequence. "Yahweh" -- that is something that came into my mouth, out of my lips, before I knew what I was singing. [Yahweh is the Hebrew name for God.] What an amazing word. You know it's a holy word, even if you didn't know what it meant."
