LOS ANGELES, CA Wednesday Jan.5.2005 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Look out "American Idol," here comes "The Road To Stardom with Missy Elliott." The new reality show premieres tonight, January 5, on UPN and follows 13 aspiring singers and rappers who go on tour with Missy and compete for $100,000 and the chance to be the next big thing in music. Each week, the performers undergo a new challenge, and heavy-hitters from the music industry determine who makes the cut.

The panel of judges includes Missy, R&B singer-songwriter Teena Marie, producer Dallas Austin and Violator Management President Mona Scott. Each week the judges will eliminate one vocalist until one winner remains. Along with the cash, the winning performer will be signed to Missy's record label.

The Road To Stardom with Missy Elliott airs today at 8 pm ET/PT on UPN.
