BANGKOK, THAILAND Friday Jan.21.2005 / -- Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Hoobastank and Simple Plan are confirmed to play the MTV Asia Aid benefit show on February 3 at the IMPACT Arena in Bangkok. The show will raise funds for UNICEF and other Thailand and India-based charities, reports

Good Charlotte will also perform live at MTV Asia Aid. Other artists, including Nelly, Green Day, Moby, Ricky Martin, 50 Cent and Sting, will lend their support via prerecorded messages.

In a statement released Wednesday, Nelly said, "MTV Asia Aid will celebrate the resilience and spirit of the people affected as they look to recover, heal and move forward. History will judge us on our compassionate and immediate response. The tsunami in Southeast Asia has left a path of destruction, and our thoughts are with everyone affected by this unimaginable devastation."

Earlier this month, MTV Networks Asia decided to make the annual MTV Asia Awards show into a global fundraising event to benefit tsunami victims in Asia. All MTV channels around the world will air the MTV Asia Aid show.
