NEW YORK, NY Monday Mar.14.2005 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- After playing rock 'n' roll for over 25 years, U2 makes history today, March 14, when the band is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The ceremony takes place in New York at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel and will be premiere on VH1 this Saturday, March 19. Check your local listings for times.

Bruce Springsteen will induct U2 into the Hall of Fame (Bono inducted Springsteen in 1999). Other artists who will be inducted this year include Percy Sledge, The Pretenders and blues guitarist Buddy Guy.
