BURBANK, CA Wednesday Apr.6.2005 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Green Day has just announced that they'll play three stadium shows in the US this summer and fall as part of an extensive North American tour. Tickets to the stadium shows go on sale this weekend, and more tour dates are expected to be announced. Green Day will play Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on September 1, SBC Park in San Francisco on September 24, and the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles on October 18. The band is on the road to promote its Grammy Award-winning album, "American Idiot."

In other Green Day news, the Bay Area trio stops by MTV's TRL this Thursday, April 7, and plays the late-night comedy show, "Saturday Night Live," on April 9. Check your local listings for show times.
