HOUSTON, TX Friday May.6.2005 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Last weekend, the Exies discovered baseball fans love rock music.

The Exies rocked the crowd at Houston's Minute Maid Park on Sunday, May 1, when they treated fans to a free post-game concert after the Astros faced off against the Chicago Cubs. And during the second and third innings, the Exies signed autographs at a booth inside the stadium.

The Astros baseball team, along with local radio station 94.5 The Buzz, asked the Los Angeles rockers to play after the Exies' exciting performance at the station's annual Buzzfest in April. Bassist Freddy Herrera posted an account of Sunday's action on the Exies' official Web site.

Herrera admits that when the Exies first received the invitation to play at the game, they weren't sure it was a good idea. "For one thing, they told us we would be playing on a flatbed truck, which didn't sound too sturdy," he writes. "Two, we would be playing at the END of the game, so we had visions of no one paying attention or caring that we were even playing and three, do baseball fans listen to rock?"

Herrera doesn't mind admitting when he's wrong. "We're happy to tell you it really couldn't of been a better gig, other than my bass amp taking a dive!" he says. "The flatbed was really pretty sturdy, tons of people (a couple of thousand, at least) stayed to check us out."

So do baseball fans and rock music go together? Herrera answers, "YEAH, baseball fans love rock! We had a great time and couldn't of been treated any better!"
