On the May 8 show, called "A Star Is Torn," Fantasia voices a character named Clarissa who competes against Lisa in the Krusty-The-Clown-sponsored "Li'l Starmaker" competition. The stakes are high because the contest winner gets to be animated into an episode of "Itchy and Scratchy." Behind the scenes, Homer becomes a crazed star dad.
"When you do 'The Simpsons,' that's major," Fantasia tells MTV. "That's like a big-time cartoon that everybody watches. When they called me, I was like, 'Of course I'll do it!'"
The Simpsons' "A Star is Torn" airs Sunday, May 8, at 8 pm/7pm CT on FOX.
