Bobby Valentino wrote Slow Down after a stroll on Melrose.

Bobby Valentino's hit song "Slow Down" was inspired by a real event.
The 23-year-old Atlanta native co-wrote the song, off his self-titled solo album, after a stroll on Melrose.
Valentino tells the Associated Press, "We wrote the song about a girl I saw on Melrose with all those characteristics. It was a real event."
"We were recording the album, and the producers...offered to take me to Melrose because there are a lot of pretty girls out there," recalls Valentino.
"We were riding around checking out the shops, when I spied this girl. She had the belly button and the butterfly tattoo. I never had the chance to meet her, but when we got back to the studio, we came up with this song. The girl in the video kinda looks like her."
