NASHVILLE, TN Tuesday Feb.7.2006 / -- Sawyer Brown and frontman Mark Miller have been honored with GMA (Gospel Music Association) Award nominations in two key categories: Country Song of the Year (for "They Don't Understand"), and Producer of the Year.

Formerly known as the Dove Awards, the Gospel Music Association Awards are the most prestigious honors in the realm of Gospel and Contemporary Christian music.

Aside from being Sawyer Brown's lead singer and producer, Miller is also the producer of the Grammy-nominated Casting Crowns, who also have five GMA Award nominations this year, and newcomer singer-songwriter Josh Bates. Both artists are on Miller's own Beach Street Records (part of the Provident
Label Group).

Said Miller, "We may have been around awhile, but it's always a thrill to be recognized by our peers. For us as a band, to be up for Country Song of the Year is a big deal, and we're humbled to have been nominated. For me personally, to be up for Producer of the Year is a dream come true. Win or lose, I'm very grateful for this honor."
The winners will be announced at the GMA award ceremonies held Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in Nashville, Tennessee.
